Romain Richard is an IT Director at the European Patent Office (EPO), based in Munich, where he contributes to the strategic modernization of the Patent Grant Process.
His work focuses on the digital transformation of complex, mission-critical IT landscapes into trusted, AI-enabled and well-governed digital platforms. Operating at the intersection of technology strategy, governance and execution, he helps shape how artificial intelligence and advanced digital solutions are responsibly embedded into the EPO’s services.
He places particular emphasis on data governance, security and digital sovereignty, ensuring innovation aligns with the EPO’s values.
